I haven’t always been a workplace performance, leadership, and neuroscience specialist. My journey started as a musician – until one moment changed everything.

At 29, I broke my ankle at a party attempting a handspring (not my best decision). Forced to slow down, I reflected on my path and realised I wanted to return to psychology, which I had studied at university.

After training as a clinical hypnotherapist, I set up my practice in the City, helping people manage stress, improve their sleep, and make the changes they wanted. But the more people I helped, the more a question kept bothering me:

Why are we taught so little about our brains?

My clients were struggling, not because they lacked intelligence, talent, or ambition, but because they lacked the knowledge and tools to manage their minds effectively. I became driven to change that.

Soon, I started teaching the most practical, science-backed techniques I knew. I began integrating psychotherapy principles with psychological research to help people improve their work and personal lives.

This led me to study neuroscience and to understand the mechanics behind personal transformation. The more I learned about the brain and applied it to my own life, the more effective I became.

My new learnings showed me how to optimise my mental performance and transform my focus and productivity. They helped me enhance my creative thinking and problem-solving, and build my mental resilience and adaptability.

Founding BrainWorkshops

Soon, I founded BrainWorkshops to bring this knowledge to others, and soon started working with businesses.

I quickly began working with teams at MTV, Jamie Oliver, and the BBC, running workshops on stress management, resilience, and mental performance. I also started teaching teams at Warner Music, Discovery, and Net-A-Porter the science of transforming productivity. And I worked with creative companies like Channel 4, NBCUniversal, and ViacomCBS, improving problem-solving, creativity, and innovation.

The results were profound.

In 2016, a publisher approached me to write The Brain Book. Since then, it has sold over 10,000 copies, helping professionals apply neuroscience to think, work, and lead more effectively.

Today, I specialise in helping businesses create high-performance cultures. This is where strategic focus and productivity, problem-solving, and resilience are embedded in how leaders and teams work. I also help progressive companies shorten their workweeks,

My drive is to lead a cultural shift in how we work, and how we use our brains at work.

If you’d like to discuss transforming performance in your organisation or team, let’s have a conversation.
